      A criminal gang is using software tools normally reserved for computer network administrators to infect thousands of PCs in corporate and government networks with programs that steal passwords and other information, a security researcher has found.

      A newly discovered flaw in the Internet's core infrastructure not only permits hackers to force people to visit Web sites they didn't want to, it also allows them to intercept e-mail messages, the researcher who discovered the bug said Wednesday.
    • World's Most Famous Hacker to Release Tell-All Book After Having Court-Ordered Ban Lifted
      The world's most famous hacker is now uploading instead of downloading. After a seven year court-ordered ban on the sale by Kevin Mitnick's of his explosive story, he has just signed a book deal with Little Brown and Company for an undisclosed amount. Kevin has also given the thumbs-up to the Canadian firm, HeavyLifters Network to represent him and create the deals in TV, movies, software, services and video games.
    • TSE to Cut Executive Pay After System Glitch
      The Tokyo Stock Exchange said Tuesday it will cut the pay of Atsushi Saito, president of the exchange's operator, and Chairman Taizo Nishimuro by 30 pct for one month following last month's computer system glitch.
